This Charter serves to establish the existence of the Architectural Review Steering Committee and document the standards by which Committee shall operate. The Architectural Review Steering Committee is tasked with identifying the priority Architectural Review needs, managing the review process, establishing credibility within the community, and creating a sustainable resource strategy to make change. It is the goal of the Architectural Review Steering Committee to create a sustainable plan to manage the current Architectural Review activities and any additional Architectural Review activities for the future of Browne’s Ferry.
We have identified the following strategies as essential to Browne’s Ferry:
- Determining priority Architectural Review activity needs
- Establishing your credibility and building a strong base of support for your efforts
- Determining the best resource strategy for using internal and external resources
- Maintaining your resilience and a positive attitude
- Working with and within the guidelines of the HOA Board
The Architectural Review Steering Committee will act as an advisory committee to the Browne’s Ferry HOA Board. The committee will work together to:
- Provide suggestions to the Board
- Create standards, schedules, and plan for activities
- Provide recommendations to the board for the direction of the community
It is the expectation that the Architectural Review Steering Committee with seek resources within the community to obtain our home owner’s needs, ideas, experiences, and community knowledge. The committee is comprised of Browne’s Ferry home owners. All members of the committee agree to attend scheduled meetings and maintain a consistent level of participation and clear communication. It is of the upmost importance that this group remains positive about the upcoming changes and exudes high energy in order to achieve our goals.
The committee will abide by section 6.2 of the covenants: Approval of Plans and Architectural Committee. After the initial construction of the dwelling on a Lot has been completed by Developer, no construction, reconstruction, remodeling, alteration, roofing or addition to any structure, building, fence, wall, drive or walkway, or exterior color change, shall be commenced or maintained upon any Lot, nor shall any exterior addition to or change or alteration therein be made after completion of construction of said dwelling, unless and until the plans and specifications showing the nature, kind, shape, height, color, material and location of the same shall have been submitted to and approved in writing as to harmony of external design and location in relation to surrounding structures and topography by the Committee. If the Committee fails to approve or disapprove such design and location within thirty (30) days after said plans and specifications shall have been submitted to it, further approval will not be required and this Article will be deemed to have been fully complied with. Upon giving approval to such plans and specifications, construction shall be started and prosecuted to completion promptly and in strict conformity with such plans as have been previously approved by the Committee. The Committee or the Board of Directors of the Association shall be entitled to stop any construction in violation of these restrictions.
This committee will abide by the Browne’s Ferry Covenants and bylaws. Each committee, including the Architectural Review Committee will contain one board member as a part of its committee.
